Does God own a Facebook Account ?

Nigerians are undoubtedly probably the most religious people on earth but that unfortunately does not change the real truth that we also come off as mostly profane, cynical and corrupt.
We take great pride in our religious inclinations and idiosyncrasies, holding on tenaciously to our beliefs which sadly has neither improved the quality of life of our people but rather enslaved and impoverished many.

But I digress for that is not why I am writing this. As a kid  I was taught about an omni-present  God and further teachings revealed that the human spirit/mind had some form of transmitting antennae to the heavens and as such He, God,  was able to  see and know all. I grew up in a household that had a family altar and prayer sessions.

This was however way before the advent of Internet connectivity and Social Media in Nigeria. I learnt to go on my kneels to say a prayer and often times pray from my heart believing I was relating to a God who was neither deaf nor blind to my supplications.

Today however, that perception has changed greatly as I have noticed the profligacy of the Gospel via Social media. This is a good thing I suppose but what I do not seem to be able to grasp is when Facebook becomes a person's prayer altar. Most people have substituted their Facebook Walls for Prayer altars and Prayer points are now Status messages.
Come to think of it, the page actually says "what is on your mind?" doesn't it ?
